Gravel garden

This garden in Queens Park was designed as a calm, modern outdoor space with a focus on texture, muted tones and low-maintenance planting. The client wanted a place to entertain, cook and relax, so we built a generous main terrace for dining and fitted it with a Big Green Egg built into a bespoke table. Beyond the terrace, a gravel garden takes over with a central path running through drought-tolerant planting. The materials palette includes beige porcelain from London Stone, self-binding gravel, and a pop of glazed colour from Little Greene Livid herringbone tiles by Bert & May. Furniture was kept simple and functional, and the planting is pollinator-friendly with soft movement and structure throughout the year. The result is a layered, usable space that feels good to spend time in and easy to look after.
